Dr. Home, of New Plymouth, has cabled saying that he has been invalided to England, suffering from
dysentery, hut is recovering
The appointment of Thomas Dick Kendall to be Official Assignee for Canterbury, and of Charles Zaekariah to a similar office in Otago and Southland. are gazetted.
Private Albert Terry, third son of Mr and Airs L. Terry, Juliet Street. Stratford, was severely’wounded in the legs by gunfire at the Dardanelles on the 16th inst.
The following Stratford men have been passed as medically lit for the infantry section of the Reinforcements;- — Messrs L. R, Curtis, S. D, Williamson. C. L. Kivoll. K. Oibson. and H. A. Old.
Mr K. S. Williams, a well-known Hast Coast sheep-farmer, and chairman of the Waiapn County Council, having volunteered for service at the front, has been selected, as one having intimate knowledge of the Maoris, to art in connection with their leadership.— Oisbortte telegram.
