UNITED.
As one in; face of danger ■ Our‘.stout: forefathers stood, Devoting life and treasure Unto the ,common good; None murmured that he suffered, None, raised a selfish cry, But each declared : “Be nothing spared My country, it is I.”
And we, their sons, are worthy To follow where they trod ; The same, our crown of justice, The same our faith in God; The same our self-denial, The same our wish to give Our lives, our all, at Britain’s call If Liberty may live.
So, one in aim and purpose, Unshaken will we stand, Not to ourselves belonging, But to the Motherland, She calls ns from oppression To set the nations free. Whose burning, light shall banish Night From farthest sea to sea. —A.W.B., in the “Daily Chronicle.”
