ITALIANS SUCCESS.

United Press Association. Ror.o, August 14

Official: The struggle behind the Cadore frontier is more intense. The enemy in the Monte Piana /-one, supported by many guns, attempted on Friday a counter-attack against the positions whence they were expelled on Thursday. After a furious combat, they were driven back with heavy losses. While our artillery in Sexton Valley were maintaining a continuous fire on the enemy works, our infantry climbed and entrenched themselves on the summit of Oher Bacherkanzel, south-east of Berbakher Spittz. Another detachment meanwhile occupied an important group of Alpine communications westward of Fort Yella Centgia. Our batteries at Isonzo started a destructive fire against the defences in JMezzo Valley, and direct hits were obtained against a battery skilfully hidden in the caves Some of the enemy entrenchments* fronting ns at Monte Seihnsi wore shattered, and many of the occupants who were put to flight were killed by shrapnel and rifle fire.
