STRATFORD GOLF CLUB.
Tlie semi-finals of the Men’s Senior Championship—P. Wright against Abraham and G. Wright against Dunlop—were played with the result that P. Wright and C. Wright won. In the first match, after 7 h«les, Wright was 3 up, when Abraham halved the Bth in 5 with a splendid putt—halved the 9th in 3 again with a good putt, leaving Wright 3 up at the turn. Abraham then halved the Ist with a well-played 3, won the 2nd with a perfect 4, Wright just missing a putt to halve. The 3rd fell to Wright with a 5, the next was halved in 5, the sth won by Wright in 4. At the crossing Abraham drove badly and Wright being on the green in 4 lay dead with his sth, and going out in (1, won the match 5 up and 3. The scores for the Ist round were Wright 41 and Abraham 45. and for next 6 holes W T right 28 and Abraham 31.
The other match was only decided on the last green. Both did the first round in 43, leaving Dunlop 1 up, but Wright got level at the next hole and was down 2 at the Bth, which Dunlop won with an excellent 4, being on the ■ green with his second. The last hole was halved in 4, thus making Wright 1 up, the scores being Wright 89, Dunlop 91.
On the 19th Mixed Foursomes will he played for prizes presented by Mr A. F. Grant.
