DOMINION’S WHEAT SUPPLY.
• —-r —•- OROP IN WHEAT AND FLOUR. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 11. In the past few days there has been an appreciable drop in wheat and flour, and there are likely to be further reductions, in the opinion of those able to guage the prospects. The Prime Minister recently had a census taken of all the wheat in the. country. It was gathered from merchants, millers, and farmers, and the result of this showed that there was sufficient in New Zealand to last until the next harvest. The new season’s harvest is generally available in the middle 'of February, but it is necessary that there should be a “carry over” supply. This wheat census is the first one taken in New Zealand for a very long time, and altogether the outlook is by no means bad, considering that crops in America end elsewhere have been good.
