With reference to the death of Private Robinson in the Dannevirke Hospital, after the Minister for Defence made his statement to a deputation in Wellington: “That the Dannevirke ease, be was certain, was not cerebro-spinal meningitis,” Dr. McAllen, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, wired him for bis authority for making the statement, and received the following reply:—“Sorry to say I was under misapprehension about the Dartnevirke case. It had been, reported to me that it was not one* of cerebro-spinal meningitis.''
