COMMONWEALTH CABLES.
NEW ZEALAND CONGRATULATED TlNTron Press Association, (Received 0.0 a.m.) Sydney, August 12. The Telegraph, in commenting on Mr Holman’s congratulations to Sir Joseph Ward on the formation of a National Ministry, says it will «arry an irresistible implication of a backhanded censure on Mr Fisher tor not taking similar steps. Congratulations that New Zealand’s freer political system permits her to rise to heights of more genuine self-sacrific-ing patriotism should prove pleasant reading to the Federal Labour Caucus, whose inflexible machinery renders a National Government impossible. The paper also favorably comments on the Dominion’s promptitude in sending postal officials to Egypt to investigate the delays, and adds; “Now that the more up-to-date New Zealand Government ha* taken action, the sleepy Department in this Continent may wake up.”
