EGMONT MOUNTAIN CLUB.
A KAPONPA MOVEMENT. All lovers of mountain climbing and mountain grandeur will be interested ia the formation of the Egmont Mountain Club, which has just been launched at Kaponga. The club has as its object the dissemination of knowledge concerning Mount Egmont. It is a remarkable fact that very few of the public of the Dominion know anything of the beauties of this mountain, and to place before people the advantages and delights to be derived from a trip there are the objects of the club, which will also assist all those who would like to make the trip. The club is instituting a judicious advertising scheme throughout the Dominion and Australia giving all needful particulars. The club's patron is his Excellency the Governor, the Earl of Liverpool; president, Mr 71. Law ; vice-presidents, Hon. Thos. Mackenzie, Messrs C. A. Wilkinson, .T. B. Hine. G. V. Pearce, and H. Okey. M.P.'s, Messrs Newton King, 0. E. Betts and S. Turner. A strong local executive has been appointed, and the secretary is Mr H. ,T. G. Allen, of Kaponga.
