A German communique states : We destroyed the enemy's newly-construc-ted bridge at Dammerkirke,'shot down a captive baloon westward of Verdun, and compelled a French aeroplane to descend southward of Muelsieim and captured the pilot and observer. ' Genera, August 10. Ihe Germans chased and compelled a French aeronlane to descend at Fayerne. and the pilot and officer were interned. I2ICH COMMISSIONER REPORTS. Tire High Commissioner reports:— London,-August 10 (9.15 p.m.) Sir John French reports that northwest of Hooge and in" the ruins of the \.ilage we consolidated the ground '{.:;.lined on Monday, repulsing W eaJt infantry'night attacks.
