(AN OPEN LETTER FROM THE W.C.T.U. OF NEW ZEALAND).
TO THE MODERATE LEAGUE.
[To Ttfß Editor Sthatj'oiid Post.] Sir,—Some time ago we asked you to redeem your many promises made before the "last poll. Wo have waited in vain for you to start a great National movement to follow the King's example. We look for you 'to help Lord Kitchener in his argent need for men, money and munitions. We scan the daily press to see.if you are aiding Ll»yd George to obtain physical efficiency. We watch lor some movement on your part, toward closing liquor bars at the tsame time as 'other business premises. You don't like Prohibition, but what are you doing to lessen drink erils? Where is the moral suasion, education, or legislation from your party ? If you have thousands ef members, and unlimited influence at your back, why are you not using all this force to lift our Nation up to personal abstinence, and National sobriety? Please answer, as there are hundreds of sisters, wives and mothers awaiting your reply. Yours for the World's uplift— BESSIE LEE COWIE, World's Missionary, W.C.T.U, July, 15)15.
