The secretary of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union has received the following cable from General Sir Alexander Godley, in reply to a congratulatory message sent by the Dominion Conference: “Please convey to tb# Farmers’ Union the thanks of the Division under my command for their very kind message and good wishes. Personally, it is impossible for me to say how much I appreciate what they say. or how proud 1 am to command such troops.” WOUNDED NEW ZEALANDERS. TRANSPORT BRINGING BACK 495. Wellington, August 9. The Defence Authorities received a cablegram stating that Transport Tahiti left Suez on Saturday with 490 sick and wounded New Zealanders aboard. The number includes eleven officers, two warrant officers, and 482 men of other ranks.
