Members of the Sydney branch of the British Medical Association have offered to attend wounded soldiers free of charge for six months alter being discharged from hospital.

Recruiting in Sydney for the past week yielded 2189. The Premier (Mr Holman) is disappointed at the result, in view of the special efforts made. The country campaign, however, largely increased the total.
QUESTION OF A WET CANTEEN.

A deputation of .clergy representing uuprotestant Catholic churches asked the Premier to establish a wet canteen camp for the sale of beer only, and to restrict the hours of sale of liquor to soldiers. It was urged that this would enable the (Jovernrnent to control the sale and regulate the quantity of the drink. The Premier promised to submit the proposal to the military authorities, in whose province the matter lav.
