Last week the secretary of the Mayor of Wellington's patriotic fund appealed to the public to make good a shortage of £lls, which had occurred in various directions. Yesterday the Mayor reecived a cheque for this amount from Hon. W. H. Hemes, with a letter commending the work done by the fund. STRATFORD BRITISH AND BELGIAN RELIEF FUND.
