The Duke of Norfolk has undergone a serious operation at Deed.-'.
Mr A. A. Paape, JMorni Organ iser. who has been in the district lor tlie past week left for Wellington today.
Mr William L. Roberts, ot Pohokura. has been passed as medically fit for the reinforcements, and will go into camp later.
Professor Cardston. who recently organised the Wellington Queen Carnival with such conspicuous success, is at present in a private hospital, at Wellington, suffering from a nervous breakdown.
