BOXING. Per Press Association. Auckland, August 4. The Auckland Provincial Amateur Boxing tourney was held in the Town Hall last night. The finals resulted: —Bantams, H. Gilchrist (El'lerslie) defeated J. Nicklos. (Auckland), the referee stopping the fight in the second round, Featherweights—E. Dowsing (Auckland) defeated W. Whale (New Lynn). Lightweights A. Dennett (Gisborne) beat F. Craig (Auckland) in the semi-final but an injured thumb prevented him contesting the -final with M. James, who retains the championship. Welter-weights-.J. Holland (Taumarunui) defeated T. Jones (Waibii. Middleweights—P. ('loss (Auckland) defeated C. R, Robertson (Auckland). .Heavyweight—J. McHugh (Auckland) defeated N- Lewis (Gisborne),
