RESOLUTION IN THE DUMA.
United Press Association. (Received 9.20 a.m.) Petrograd, August 3
The Duma resolved: “That the military' trials of the past year had fortified the spirit of loyalty among the whole population, an<;l,tjie ,Empire was, viWhakeahie in its unanimous resolution to continue the struggle with the faithful Allies till final success is attained; that we will not conclude peace till victory is complete; and that thee nearest way to victory is the willing assistance of the whole population for the creation of fresh means of continuing the struggle, which demands the strengthening of internal peace and the forgetting of all political quarrels.”
M. Rodmiranko. who was-re-elected president, said the war had caused the disappearance oi' all divisions and had reunited in a solid mass all representatives of Great Russia with the sole aim of victory.

There was an unprecedented scene in the- Duma, many members weeping when the Minister lor War, describing liow the Siberian Fusiliers’ Regiment was almost wiped out by poisonous gps, said the position bad been held at all costs. Not a man left bis place, but heroically struggled to resist the fatal fumes, many falling unconscious. I They continued firing in a state of half stupor, rallying again and again for another shot until they were! utterly helpless. The .survivors continually ran along the trenches firing at differI out points to make the enemy believe it/was still strongly held. REPORTS OF SANGUINARY FIGHTING. Ferograd. August ,‘i. A communique states: We. captured bOO prisoners and- six machine-guns i east of Fimetevsk. The enemy progressed on the right bank of the Narcw, after several days’ stubborn fighting. The enemy have concentrated very large forces in Uozani, I and attacked in the direction of the
railway smith of Ostrolouka, where an extremely desperate ana sanguinary battle continues. The action on the Vistula, north-west of Flounie and south of Garaklovia. terminated in our favor. Wo withdrew to a more concentrated position’ near the Ivangorod crossing, after a stubborn engagement. Our troops on foe sector of the left of the Bug occupied a new front unmolested.
THE GERMAN REPORT.
Amsterdam, ,August 2
A German communique states: We stormed Height 180. north-east of Suwalki, and our troops north-west of Lomza reached the Narew, after an obstinate, resistance. We took 1000 prisoners. We are advancing on the remainder of the Vistula front, and have taken prisoner oGO. ihe situation before Warsaw is unchanged, in the south-eastern theatre our troops, under General von Woyrsch, advanced, amid heavy fighting, through a good district eastwards of Podzaneze, and captured fifteen hundred prisoners and eight machine-guns. The Austrians are closing round Ivangorod, anad the Russians are still engaging von Mackensen. We gained a success east of Knrow, taking prisoner GOO. The pursuit of the enemy north-east of Cliolm continues. The Austrians are across the Bug south-west of Wlaimirwolynski.
TO THE SOUTH OF WARSAW.
Vienna, August 3
Official: West of Ivangorod our Transylvanian regiments took, at the point of the bayonet, eight vantage points built one above the other. The .semi-circle around Ivangorod is becoming considerably narrower, and we have captured over two thousand men and forty guns. Austrian infantry stunned the railway station at Novo Alexandra, and the Germanas penetrated the third lino at Kurow. Our troops which crossed the Bug between Sokal and Krylgw are advancing on Wolynsky.
OCCUPATION OF MITAU.
Amsterdam, August 2
A German communique .states: Our troops, alter some fighting, occupied Mitau, and the town, one the whole, is undamaged. (Mitau is a town of 3(3,000 inhabitants, 2G miles south-west of Riga).
