At Piccarton this moinirig, a heavy frost delayed the start of operations. Most of the work was done on the grass. Sampson easily heat Daylight Pill and Sir Donald over a mile and a quarter, the last mile being run in 1.53 3-ssec. Slogan ran five furlongs in 1.4 1-5; Banksia, a mile in 1.44; Paupani. Birklme, and The Cornet finished in that order at the end of seven furlongs, the last six heing out out in 1.19 1-5; Morning ran a mile and a quarter, the last six in 1.27; Xicomar, half a mile in 51 ; Toki, half a mile in 51 4-5; Cilenroy. ran seven furlongs, the last six in 1.20; Crown Pearl joined in the last live, finishing well; Multiply and St. Elm were given a schooling task, once round the hurdles, hoth jumping well; Royal Arms ran once round the hurdles, pimping well ; Fagot and Pustic gave a fair exhibition in once round the hig fences ; Tim Dd'dlan was not impressive iin a round alone, but he was then joined by Pustic for the second round, wheni he gave a much better exhibition. Sandy Paul jumped .satisfactorily over the hig fences, hut Tikoranga gave a poor exhibition.. A number of others also worked.
