GERMAN NIGHT ATTACK FAILS. ALLIED AIRMEN AT WORK. United Press Association. (Received 8.50 a.m.) Paris, August 1. A communique states:—The enemy at night unsuccessfully attacked ns at Sebratz. Menelle. and Reichackerkopf sustained very considerable loss. Our aeroplanes on Saturday threw thirty shells on to the aviation camp at Balheim, near .Marchanges, and six on a military train at Chateau Sal ins.

Official.—The arrests at Rouhaix were due to the. refusal to pay the indemnity gf 150,000 francs as a penalty for tli ebombardment of German Consulate at Alesandretta; arid, also, for refusal to work, 130 were interned in the prison camp at Kustrow, Mecklenburg. The French Government informs the - civilised Governments of this new odious violation of international law. and threatens reprisals unless'the people are immediately released

Army vetcrinarics recommend that cavalry horses be dyed blue, matching the new’-uniforms, as it is believed the existing khaki dye irritates them.
