Ever since Captain .M'Laglen began to give public exhibit ions ol jin jitsu in Christchurch the art has become something of a craze with some people i says/the Lyttelton Times). But. like so many other things, jin jitsu has its serious side, and this was somewhat vividly demonstrated in a well-known city bakery on Wednesday morning. Two men began performing jin jitsu acts, and one .succeeded in throwing hi.s companion into a soporific state. The victim fell (in the floor and began writhing in agony. Luckily one of the linkers who happened to he fairly skilled in jin jitsu took the unfortunate man in hand and after a few minutes’ patient handling succeeded in restoring consciousness. Had not immediate assistance been available the happening would almost certainly have been attended by fatal results.
