The chairman of the Stratford Dairy Company, at the anitltal- meeting this morning, announced'that a little line (60 boxes) of butter- was sold on Saturday at Is 6id per lb on trucks, Stratford. Turning to the reporters present, Mr Dingle said with a broad smile of satisfaction: "Yes. you can put that in the paper! You fellows growl at the price of butter, but the fact is you are getting it too cheap." It is almost needless to stale that the meeting shook itself with amusement at the pressmen's expense.

There was an attendance of eighty sharehoUlers of the Stratford Dairy Company'at His Majesty's Theatre this morning, the chairman of directors (Mr 11. Dingle) presiding. The ceport and .■balance-sheet were unanimously -adopted after,'slight discussion. On tlie motion of Mr Rawles, a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the directors, especially the retiring directors, for their services during the year. The retiring directors, Messrs W. H. Were, John Milne, and K. Bowling were re-elected, and together with Messrs R. SDingle ''chairman), G. gangster, A. Lehmann, H. Watson, M. T. 'Phillips, and W. Colson. form the present directorate. Mr T. Harry Penn was re-elected auditor. Tlie chairman was voted the usual honorariiiin (£SO). It was decided to pay the directors 12s 6d per meeting and mileage one way. The Company will start the season's operations on. Monday next. Mr G. Grey attended the meeting for the third year in succession in support of a request for a scheme to secure to the farmers an agricultural instructor, hut it was found that notice of motion in regard to same had heen omitted from the notice of the animal meeting, and a resolution to vote the stun of £3O was unable to be taken.
