THE WANGANUI IN FLOOD

BIGGEST SINCE 1904. f. Per Press Association. Wanganui, July 22. Heavy continuous rain over the whole district for forty-eight hours brought down the biggest flood since the record of 1904. The water is still rising. The Wanganui East esplanade is covered. A continuous stream of driftwood is coming down. The Hood should reach its maximum at about .six o’clock to-night. The rain has stopped now. No serious damage has yet been reported.
