STEAMER BENALLA’S PLIGHT. I sited Press Association. Durban. July 20. Tin* steamer Benalla, with eight thousand emigrants on hoard, is afire eight hundred miles east ot Durban. LATEST NEWS OF THE VESSEL. ft THE OTAKI IN TOUCH. (Received 9.0 a.m.) Durban. July 21. A wireless from the Benella received last night stated that her position at eight o'clock in the evening was thirty-eight - degrees forty-nine south and forty-two degrees eleven minutes east. The vessel was then steaming at the rate of fourteen knots north-west ward. The Otaki was in touch 100 miles distant.
