Delian gave notice to move that members of the Council with ten years’ continuous service’he allowed to retain the title of “Honorable” and their railway passes. LATE HON. W. K. NIK OH A. Hon. Sir E. I). Bell moved that the Council record its sense of the services of the late Hon. W, K. Nikora. and express sympathy with his relatives. He thought all members of the Council had a genuine respect of the late member, who . business character and personal qualities were of the highest. Ho

Hardy, C. H. Mills, and W. Buchan, after which the Council adjourned out of respect to the deceased member. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
QUESTIONS. When the House met at 2.80 p.m., in reply to Dr. A. K. Newman, the Minister of Public Health said he would he pleased to confer with medical inert who have returned Horn the front with a view to ascertaining the necessary equipment at base hospitals in Egypt. Italy, and Greece. In reply to Mr A, Harris, the Prime Minister said that the Government would consider the question of inviting the .\ustralian nurses who came by the Wiliochra to visit the beauty spots of the Dominion, as guests of the Government. He wished to say that the services of the Australian nurses were greatly appreciated. The fact that 80 men were carried on board the M illochra and only Id had to be carried off showed how well the men were looked after.
In reply to Mr Field, the Minister of Public Health said he was not aware that New Zealand medical men were joining the Australian forces owing to the difficulty of being enrolled here.
In reply to Mr A. -M. Myers, the Minister of Defence said that lie saw no necessity to establish a bureau oi information at Alexandria. Referring to remission of money to soldiers in Egypt, in reply to telegrams asking for assistance, the Minister for Defence said great care should lie taken to ascertain that the telegrams were genuine. LATE HOX. W. K, XIKORA. In moving a resolution oi condolence in connection with the death ol the Hon. W. Tv. Xikora. the Prime Minister said that the late Councillor was one of the best representatives of the native race who ever sat in Parliament. Sir'Joseph Ward, Hon. W. H. Kerries. Mr J. Anstey, Dr. Romaic, Mr H. Poland, Mr A. E. Clover, and Mr T. W. Rhodes made feeling reference to the death of the late Councillor, and the motion was carried. At 4.37 p.m. the House adjourned until Tuesday, as a mark ol respect to the late Councillor.
