A ONE-ARMED LIEUTENANT.
' PER PRKSS ASSOCIATION , Wellington, July 15. The Willochra arrived in port last night, bringing 273 XewvZealand officers and men from .Gallipoli. The cases on hoard are scheduled as invalids (four officers and 106 men) and wounded (eight officers and 155 mm, 25 of whhjh a ( re ( ./'stretcher cases). Early in the morning the Ministers of Defence and Public Health visited the s,hipv when the men were medically examined and paid', and arrangements' made for despatch to their; homes. , , Later, the Premier went aboard and .welcomed thp wounded, who .are iu charged Captain Mitchell,' ; medical officer, and Major McKenzie, military officer, ...the medical staff is assisted by, eight'Australian nursing sisters, of Whose good work the men .speak in ; the highest praise. Except for the intense heat in the lied Sea, the vof-Jge v^a*nrf(^t-^f^hti ed to set the men up in a most wonderful way, the wounds healing most satisfactorily. Theie 'was only one aboard who lost a limb, namely Lieu-: tenant Teake. of Cambridge, who is witnout his right arm. The men look remarkably well, and are in excellent spirits'. The town'is gaily decorated with hunting, and there is an immense crowtl at the wharves in anticipation of the ship being berthed at the .Glasgow wharf at 2 o'clock.
