The War Office announces that a statement in a Turkish communique that the Allies at the Dardanelles have used gas against the enemy is false. We have not resorted to this method df warfare.

The Italian consuls in Jerusalem, Aleppo, and Beirut,' who have arrived at Naples, declare that Turkey is exhausted. The Arabs lament it has completely separated its vanse. from that of the Ottomans. The Turkish resistance at the Dardanelles will continue, for that is where the last forces of the empire are being expended.

Tht Daily Chronicle's Turin correspondent states that the German military attaches have quitted Constantinople, and the archives of the embassy have also been removed.

II Seccolo states that an impression exists that the collapse of the TurkoGerman defence of the Dardanelles is not far off.
