A sain I wish him success. Several other Cardiff men have enrolled, and are waiting to he called up. Mr P. Marchant expects to get a wav in August.
A concert in aid of the Wounded Knud is being promoted by the local Patriotic Committee and the School Committee, and will ho held about the middle of August. A social tor the same purpose will he held in the school on Friday next. The usual weekly shoot of the miuiarille club will h e held on Saturday night instead. The trophies presented hy Mr ,1. Rogers (open only to members of the Home Defence Corps) and by Mr Sharp, of Stratford, are now being competed for, and the result will be known on Saturday night next. For the championship (six shoots, four best to count) some good scores resulted, Mr Howarth (26-T) won the gold medal presented by Mr .1. Stewart. The following are the scores.—
