WAiMATE PLAINS TROTTING CLUB.
On Wednesday next, owners of trotters are reminded that entries will be received for the various events set dowj) for decision at the club's first totalisator meeting, to lie held on the Hawera Racecoyr.se on July 28. The club owes its present position to the efforts of a small band of enthusiast* who have overcome all obstacles alter a struggle. The programme is made up of seven events, and the total prize mosey is £440. The events are as follow : Auroa Handicap, of SOsovb., one mile ami a-half; Normanby Handicap, of .jUsovs.. one mile and a distance; Waituate Plains Handicap, of llOsovs, two miles; Farmers' Handicap, of 30 sovs.; one mile and a-half; Stratford Handicap, of SOsovs., one mile and alialfj Manaia Handicap, of 50sovs.,one mile and a quarter, and Hawera Handicap, of 70sovs.. one mile. The handicapping is in the hands of Mr I lie Shannon, and Mr All'. Morse will attend to the starting. The detailed programme will be found in another column.
