PRESIDENT MAKES PROTEST. NO SECRET AMBITIONS FOR SOEVEREIGNTY. United Phess Association. (Received 9.20 a.in.) Peking, July 9. President Yuan-Shi-Kai sternly protested to the Chinese officials that he had no secret ambitions lor sovereignty. It it were offered, he would leave the country and live abroad. Already he had purchased an estate in England.
