Recent news from Samoa states that there has been considerable trouble among the Chinese coolies, of whom there are about 3000 on the island of Upolu on which Apia is situated. Trouble of a serious nature broke out on one of the inland plantations, and a portion of tbeltroops had to make a forced march of ten miles to. quell a dsiuirbance. There was no bloodshed on that occasion, but further trouble is expected. Two rival factions among the Chinese are the cause of trouble. Haiti fell heavily during .the night and has continued all day.| In Seytop Street a foot-bridge has been scoured, underneath and the bridge is dangerous. No other damage is reported- But those who go home in the "wee sma' hours" should not take the Seyton Street bridge. Beware!
