Tosh’s clearing sale, the herd averaged £7 ss, this price including eight aged cows that sold under £4. On Wednesday, 30th, at Pungarehu, for Messrs Moffit and Goodwin's clearing sale, there was a very representative attedance, buyers being present from all parts of the district, and several cars came through from Manaia. Bidding throughout was brisk, a s will , be understood when the 129 cows were sold in 105 minutes, making a very satisfactory average of £8 t,lls price, including 15 young second ca vers which were showing very late m calf and all of which* sold under The older cows were in great conditio.'' and reflected credit upon the vendors.., who had the breeding and care of this herd for years past. The dairy cows were a very fair line, sol'ing at fiom £7 5s to £l4 ss, making a good average of £8 13s 9d, springing heifers made £5 to £7, empty heifers £2 to £3, small bulls £1 15s to £4. At Tataraimaka on Thursday, lor Mr E. L. Bott’s clearing sale, there was a good ntetendance, and b.dding was again brisk, tlie average of £7 4s being very good tor the class of cows. Empty cows made from £3 to £6 10s. At Waiwakaiho yards on I* riday, 2nd inst., there was a full yarding, for which there was an improved enquiry. Jersey weaner heifers made from 25s 6d to 30s, weaner steers up to £2 Bs, empty 2 year Shorthorn heifers up to £3 Is, young store cows £- to £3 18s, fat cows £7 14s to £8 10s, dairy cows on account of Mr Andy Cole realised from £6 5s to £9. On account of Mr E Dixon £5 15s to £lO. On account of Mr J. Walker i! 12s (Jd to £6; on account of Mr Sam Richards £8 15s to £9 7s 6d, choice spinning heifers made from £6 tes 6d to Li 12s 6d, others £3 15s to £5 ss. On the same day, at Oakum, lor Mr (i. J. Walford’s clearing sale, there was a good attendance Cows were very low in condition, and brought up to £8 15s, harrows, caits and sundries brought good \ allies right through the day. Private Sales.—Weaner heifers £1 ss. weaner steers £2 5s to £2 10s, 2 year steers £3 14s 6d to £4 12s 6d. I and 24 year steers £5 ss, dairy cows £8 lOs to £l2, 3 year in calf springin gheifers £ 65s to £7, fat cows £8 ss, forward cows £5 U)s to £6, small cows £3, fat sheep 26s to 26s 6d, forward wethers £1 3s .lorwaid l.ni. ewes 16s. ewes in lamb 16s to 17s 9(1, lambs 12s to 15s 6d.
