According to a wirt’ received l»y the .Superintendent of Police from tin* constidile at Aratapu, Northern Wairoa, a youth of Ui years named Robert Gibson was fatally -shot while out shooting; in a punt on the Wairoa river. His gun. which had been laid on a seat, fell off and exploded, the charge shattering one of Gihsn’s -legs. He was taken in a launch to the Te Kopuru hospittal, a distance of thirty miles, and died tlierc at 2 o’clock this morning ■'
