Ou Tuesday, 29th June, at the sales of above produce, I catalogued 15 hales and Ml sacks wool, 1700 sheepskins, 0 casks and 49 tins tallow, 830 hides, 118 calfskins, and the usual sundries, to a large attendance of buyers. Competition was very keen and the orices for sheepskins were the highest obtained at these sales. Crutchings de dined 2d per lb from the high prices ruling the previous month, seedy parcels even to a greater extent. Sheepskins advanced ?,d to Id per lb, oxhides advanced «d, md washed and good conditioned cow hides advanced 3-d and T. ! ,d, sloppy and inferior sorts Id to id. Tallow—Market quiet, no change.

The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report as follows: On Friday, 25th June, we held our usual monthly sale in our Te Wera yards. There was a small yarding owing to the wet weather preceding j the sale, but the stock that we yarded sold readily at a slight advance in values. Lambs (small and cully) 5s Id, medium quality (small) 11s (id, cull owes (very poor) Gs 7d, fair to .medium quality 18s, yearling heifers 21s, yearling steers 35s Gd, 20 months heifers up to £4 ss. Our next Te Wera sale will be held on 23rd July.
On Monday, 28th inst., we held a clearing sal© on account of Mr A. C. D. Eggers, near Tariki, when there was a very lai’ge attendance of the public from all parts of the district, and we have to report a satisfactory sale. Sundries sold well. Milk cans 15s to 245, copper and stand 225, light milk cart £9 7s 6d, milk cart harness £5 15s, dog cart £ll 10s, gelding £l9 10s, horse covers from 10s to 15s, cow covers from 16s 6d, single furrow plough £4 ss, swingle trees 12s. Cows, early calvers and close to profit made from £8 15s to £lB, later cows £6 10s to £7 10s, empty cows £5, cows carrying 2nd calves, without records, made from £6 to £8 10s, heifers realised from £5 10s to £6 10s 6d, yearling heifers 19s 6d, yearling bull 21s. Wo also offered at this sale on account of Mr Frank Gladding three very nice heifers, which made from £9 10s to £9 15s.
On. Tuesday, 29th inst., we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a small yarding of 262 head of cattle, most of which were disposed of at satisfactory figures. There was a large attendance of the public. Fat cows, light ,made £6 2s to £8 12s for good weights, store cows, fair condition, £5 Is to £5 6s, poor quality from £4 to £4 19s, old and low conditioned £2 17s 6d to £3 17s, springing heifers (good) £7 to £7 10s 6d, medium £6 5s to £6 Bs, empty heifers £3 to £3 18s, weaner heifers 18s to 255, weaner steers 31s 6d to 41s iOur next Stratford sale will he held on 13th July.
On Tuesday, 29th inst., we also held our usual monthly sale of wool, hides,
skins, etc., hut owing to the inclemency ol' the weather our catalogue was only fair. Crutchings showed a dejrliue of 2id pm - lh. on last sales’ dates, whilst sheepskins and hides showed a decided rise. Prices obtained were :—Crossbred skins, short woolled. 7d, i| woollecl S;,'d, 9d to Kl.Ul per lh, damaged 7id, dead and torn Bjd to , Ski, salted at 5s 7d each, crossbred [ lambs !)d to 9kl, crossbred hoggets 9;{d to 10iJ-d.
