PERSONAL.

Mr F. AV. AVake .of Auckland, is at present visiting Stratford. Mr E. Davis, member of the Stratford Fire Brigade, was last night presented by his fellow members with a rose howl on the occasion of his recent marriage. The death occurred at AVaitara yesterday Mr James Lindsay, an uncle of Mr E. Jackson, of Stratford. The funeral will take place at AA aitara at 2.30 to-morrow afternoon.

His AVorship the Mayor (Mr J. AV. Boon) left for AVellington this morning. He will attend the Conference called by the Mayor of AA eliington to discuss the question of the administration of patriotic funds.

Mr D. Cameron, of Cardiff, is to he again congratulated, this time upon the successful exhibits he made at the Hawera Show on behalf of the Cardiff Factory. Our representative report s that Air Cameron secured four first prizes and two special pizes.

Mr Harry Cohen, touring manager for Plimmer-Hall Co., is in town today making for Hie visit of that famous organisation on Tuesday next. The Company is the same as has recently toured the Dominion for the Patriotic Fund, as a result of which £3750 was handed over.

Mr C. A. Copeland, who ha« resigned from the staff of Messrs John Duthie and Co. Ltd., Wellington, after thirty-two years’ service, left for Taranaki on Saturday (states the New Zealand Times). He is about to enter business on his own account in the Stratford district, and last week was made the recipient of two piesentations. On behalf of the staff Air RAL Jack, assistant-manager for Messrs Duthie and Co., handed Air Copeland a valuable collection of cutlery, and referred to the gOod-.m o.vship which had always existed between the recipient and his fellow-employees. On behalf of the firm, the Hon. -.

Duthie presented Mr Copeland with a cheque for a substantial amount, and wished him every success, in the step he had taken.
