THE WAR FUNDS.

The men of New Zealand’s Public Service have from the outset of the war contributed very liberally to the various patriotic funds that have boon opened. Exclusive of Police, Post and Telegraph and Kailway Departments, the other branches of the Service (including of course, the Public Works men) have subscribed to the Empire Defence and Belgian Relief Funds no less that £11,029 10s 9d from the outbreak of war to June 14th of this year. This does not include the many contributions made by individuals to the local funds of the towns or cities where they may happen to reside. The Public Service men are certainly acting generously and their'exainple is a good one.
