POSSIBILITY OF WAR.

UNEASINESS IN PETROCRAD.

Unitfp Psksi Association. (Received 8.10 a.m.) Petrograd, June 22. Some newspapers are uneasy at the possibility of Sweden declaring war.

The King of Sweden married in 1881 Princess Victoria of Baden, a first cousin of the Kaiser. His eldest son married Princess Margaret of Connaught, and his second sou married the Czar’s cousin, the Grand Duchess Marie.

The approximate war strength is 230,000 men of the first line, 90,000 of the second line and 165,000 of the Landsturm, and under the new scheme is expected to rise to a total of 600,000 men. Sweden’s Navy numbers 7,600 of all ranks. The strength in ships built and building in September 191 1 was coast defence vessels 13, armoured cruisers 1, torpedoers 5, torpedo boat destroyers 8, torpedo boats 61, submarine's 3. A sum of £1,000.000 eas collected in 1912 for the purpose of building a battclsliip but the Government would not proceed with the construction. A further number of submarines are building but the number lias been kept secret.
