Oil June otli a concert and dance was held in the schoolroom with very gratifying results, the sum of £2O being raised after all returns were in. It was decided to donate the money raised to the Hospital Shi]> Fund, but, as this was closed before the final accounts were settled, i has since been decided to pay the amount into the fund lor the relief of our wounded and invalided soldiers. During the evening many gifts were profitably disposed of. Following are the concert items:—Overture, 3.1 iss Bray and Mr eParson ; song, 3ir Todd ; recitation, Mr Boss; song, Mrs Darrail; song, Mr Uoare; recitation, Mrs Meuli ; song, Mr Stewart (encored); song, Mr Pearson; song, Mr Todd; recitafencored) ; song, 31 rs Stewart; pianoforte duet, Miss and Mr Pearson; song, Miss Permit; Ragtime Melodies, Messrs Stewart and Todd; recitation. Master E. Perrott (tin’s item alone bringing in nearly £1). A social evening is to bo held for patriotic purposes on Friday, 2oth inst., and some form of entertainment will be. held monthly from that data for the same purpose.
