STRATFORD HI STRICT EXHIBITORS.

The following farmers in the Stratford district had exhibits at the New Plymouth Winter Show, in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture: Mangolds—K. McK. Morisou (Stratford), J. T. Turnips.—R. Mounsey, Bird Road (Stratford). Lucerne. —It. Mounsey (Bird * Road (Stratford). G. S. Bowers (.Xgaere), H. Silk (Stratford). Lucerne Ensilage.—G. S. Bowers (Xgaere). Oat anad Vetch.—(!. S. Bowers (Xgaere). Oat and Vetch Ensilage.—G. S. Bowers (Xgaere). Carrots.—T. Garlick (Toko), .). T. Walsh (Bird Road, Stratford), G. S. Bowers (Xgaere). Near the entranace at the Show there was the winning roots in the Toko Settlers' Association field competition. Mr E. Marfell.was first in the mangel section with Prizewinner Yellow Globe; the manures used were 2501 b. slaga, 1121 b. super, 501 b bonedust and 20 sulphate ,of potash : the yield was 50.78. tons per acre. Mr Xeedham was second with Mammoth Long Red, using 2cwt. super and 2ewt bonedust, the yield being 39.21 tons per acre. Jn swedes, Mr E. Jones was tirs't with Superlative Swede, using lewt. bonedust, lewt. super, and lewt basic slag; yield, 52.31 tons. Mr E, Marfell, second, with Superlative Swede, usd scwt. basic slag, and obtained a yield of 43.79 tons. Mr W. H. Were, third, again with Superlative Swede, used 2cwt. basic slag, lewt. super, and 251!) sulphate of potash : the yield was 41.3 tons per acre. In carrots, Mr A. Xeedham was' first, with Sinclair's Champion; manure, ■lewt. super; yield, 45.27 tons. Second, Mr C. Bailey; White Belgian Carrot ; manure, 4cwt. basic slag; yield, 33.83 tons per acre.
