PROGRESS IN THE VOSGES'. CnITWD FbKM ASSOCIATION (Received 10.25 a.m.) Palis, June 17. A communique states: —We continued' our progress in the Yosges and mastered the heights dominating Fecht, North Steinbruck, and Metzeral We also progressed between two blanches of the Upper Fecht and on the heights between the Fecht and the Lauch Valleys. North of Ypres the British took a line of German trenches. In the sector at Arras the Allies gained ground aast of Lorette and south of Souchez and in the labyrinth they took three hundred prisoners. At Queeneviere, several counter-attacks were repulsed. The Allies' gains extended to the north-west trenches where they had previously captured 100 prisoners. The enemy bombarded Rheims, throning one hundred shells, several of which were incendiary, and ten fell on the Cathedral. In the Vosge,s, the Allies made important progress on both banks of the Upper Fecht, taking possession of. Braunkapf, with 300 prisoners and much material. On Tuesday, German airmen bombed Nancy,'St. Die, and Belfort, but only at Nancy were some civilians struck. London, June 17 (12.55 a.m.)

The Zeppelin raid on the north-east coast last night killed 16 and injured 40. The raid on June 6 killed 21 and injured 10. Fires occurred in a drapery establishment, timber yards, and on a terrace of small houses.
