— r —— Particulars of tlie wounding ol Private Rupert -Nicliolls at the Dardanelles disclose an act of great heroism oil the part of Private Looney, of Oanui. It appears that Xicholls was wounded at six a.m. and alter Iving in the trenches until nine o’clock at night was ‘carried to the rear under lire by Private Looney. Sad,,to relate the brave rescuer received a shot in the stomach as lie rose alter laying his comrade down and was instantly killed.
