RUSSIAN BARQUE DESTROYED BY SHELLFIRE. i = J . ■ Dnit«u Pbem Asbooiayion. , (Received 10.5 a.m.) London, June 11. A submarine sunk the Russian barque Thomassi by shellfire when forty miles south of the Old Head of Kinsale. Tho crew, who were six hours in the boats, landed at Queenstown. SUBMARINE VICTIMS. THREE TRAWLERS SUNK. (Received 9.10 a.m.) Amsterdam, June 11. A Dutch fishing boat picked up eight survivors of two British fishing smacks, the Welfare ,and the Laurestina, which were sunk by a Zeppelin.
The trawler Letty was mined or torpedoed off Dogger Bank,, and the crew perished. ANOTHER GERMAN TRICK. THE PRINZ EITEL'S MEN BREAK PAROLE. (Received 12.15 p.m.) Washington, June 11. Lieutenant Brauer and a number of men interned from the Prinz Eitel Fredrick, broke their parole and escaped to Europe. The commander of the Prinz Eitel Fredrick asserts that Brauer and his men left the ship before the internment or any arraignment for parole. DAMAGED GERMAN SUBMARINES London, June 11. Copenhagen declares that two Borman submarines, . severely damaged, have arrived at Libau. MORE TRAWLERS SUNK. London, June 11. The steamer Athearrou, coal laden from Barry, was sunk by a submarine without notice. The crew was saved. The schooner Express was sunk by a submarine. The crew was landed in Norway.
A submarine sank two trawlers and chased a third for twelve miles until a patrol boat appeared, and the pursuit was precipitately abandoned. All the crews were saved.
Submarines in the past tour days have sunk seven Lowestoft trawlers. AN UNTRUE STORY. (Received 12.15 p.m.) Loudon, June 11. A Vienna telegram states that an Austrian submarine torpedoed ami sunk, oil San Giovanni i)i Medua, a British cruiser of the Liverpool class which was accompanied by six destroyers. The. V ress Bureau states that the ship which is presumably referred to is safe in harbour and not seriously damaged,
