The Ashburton Trotting Club’s meeting was held to-day in line weather. and the attendance was large. The totalisator investments aggregated £18,175. as against £24,386 10s last year. Results:— Trial Handicap.—Omako 1, Coal King 2, Molly McKinny 3. "Won oy three lengths. Time, 3min 34 sec. Longheach Handicap.—Lord Roanchild 1, Aladdin 2, Havanna 3. All started. Won by hall a length. Time, 3min 3-1 sec.
Ashburton Trotting Cup Handicap.— Stanley Child 1, Tommy C. 2, Our 'J'horpo 3. Won easily by one length. Time, •Imin 40 4-dsee. Amateur Handicap.—Cello 1, Sydney Wilkes 2. Flake Cut 3. The winner led throughout. Time, 2min 21 see. Action Handicap.—Rothannie 1, Gee Whir, 2, Scenery 3. Won all the way. Time, 2min 50 2-dsee.
