ARRESTS FOR ESPIONAGE. TROUBLE WITH AUSTRIAN EMBASSY. Tuks and Sydney Sun Service. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, June 10. A great number ol Germans and Austrians have been arrested in Italy for espionage. Ihe Austrian Embassy at the Vatican is openly saying that they believe themselves protected by diplomatic immunity. EMPEROR EXASPERATED. REIGN OF TERROR IN TRENTINO. Times and Sydney Sun Service. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, June 10. Rome states that the Emperor Francis Joseph is exasperated at the sudden and unexpected Italian nftensive, and is recalling General Von Holtzendorf from supreme command. A reign of terror exists in Trentino, the Austrians ruthlessly destroying property and arresting the inhabitants. Starved refugees arriving at \ erona are in a pitiful condition.

(Received 8.55 a.m.) Paris, June 10, The Petit Journal states that the Italians destroyed the railway at Roveredo, and severely shelled Trento, Besen's, and Basenello. They destroyed some of the Austrians’ best positions on the right bank of the Lagariuo and some on the left bank. Ibo Italian losses were relatively small compared to the extent ol territory evacuated and the importance of the position taken. THE BOMBARDMENT OF VENICE (Received 9.10 a.m.) London, June 10.. The aeroplane attacking Venice deliberately aimed a bomb at St. Mark’s Square.
THE TYROL FRONTIER. ITALIANS STEADY ADVANCE. (Received 10.35 a.m.) Rome, June 10. Official.—On the Tyrol-Trentino frontier. we continue to fortify positions preparatory to the development of fresh operations. Despite strenuous opposition we approached Fahzargeo Pass and captured a gun and a quantity of ammunition. Yesterday the Alpine Chasseurs captured an important position at Preikoffel close to Gamice. At Montecrooe,/ after several days’ fierce fighting, we took a hundred prisoners, KING EMANUEL AT THE FRONT. Home, June 10. King Emanuel visited all the advanced trenches between St. Elvio and the Adriatic, immensely stimulating the troops’ enthusiasm. He accompanied the first brigade when they crossed the Isonzo on a pontoon thrown up by the engineers. THE BUFFALO BRIGADE. London, June 10. Mr Donohoe, in Northern Italy, states that the use of wild buffaloes in breaking down the Austrian entanglements is not an isolated incident. The Italians have thousands of savage animals at their disposal. They also used exploding mines in passes giving an entrance to the Trentino, and exploding bombs w'ere sometimes used. A stampede was best, and it was nsaul for serum- to he injected which rouses the buffaloes to a terrifying pitch of fury. Sometimes five hundred beasts were released at a time, and as they rushed through the pass, by a'terrific explosion the buffaloes were blown to pieces, and the troops were able to traverse in safety and afterwards eat the llesh.
