MURDER AND FATAL RIOTS. UIOTID P**m Ajmooutioh. Colombo, June 8. Official: On May 28, Buddha's birthday, the Buddhists looted the Moslem shops at Kandy. The outbreak was quelled, but it diffused through the central province, «vher* the military respressed it. A further outbreak occurred at Colombo on the 31st, spreading to the south, but tho Governor hoped to suppress it W » lew' days. It was due to a .sudden outbreak of racial commercial animosity. Much Moslem merchandise was destroyed, and numerous murders were committed. Several were shot. The latest telegram says the situation is in hand.
