AN IMPORTANT BATTLE. United Press Association. London, June 7, The first important battle, which lias been raging since Thursday, for tire possession of Tolmino, is progress-, ing favorably to the Italians. BATTLESHIP COLLISION. Rome, June 7. Tile Messager« says that during aerial bombardment of Pola two Austrian battleships, manoeuvring, escaped, hut collided. One was badly damaged. A warship also struck and sank a destroyer. AUSTRIAN COMMUNIQUE. Amsterdam, June 7. An Austrian communique says the Italians had considerable losses at Montenero, where three hundred were killed. The enemy’s attempt to cross the Strouzo, near Sagrado, southward of Gradisca, was repulsed with heavy losses.
