A platoon of Alpine chasseurs at Vallinferno attacked a trench containing a superior number of Austrians. The lieutenant was wounded, and a corporal assumed command but was killed. Another corporal replaced him and they rushed to the trench and killed twenty-five and made prisoners of the others, a few escaping. The King has conferred the silver medal for valour on the lieutenant and corporal.
