AT THE PERSIAN GULF. SUCCESSFUL BRITISH MOVEMENT. Dnitbd Pbem Ashooiatiow. London, June 4. Official: Our troops on the night of the 31st, prtly wading and partly in boats, skilfully executed a turning movement against the Turks north of Kuril. They «eized the Turkish heights,, at noon, and captured ; three guns, and -took 250 prisoners. We pursued the enemy thirty-three miles up river, sinking several boats, and capturing more guns and three hundred prisoners. The British casualties were trifling. ' (Kurna is situate at the junction of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, about 100 miles from the head of the Persian Gulf. British forces have been operating in this region for some time. The district is very fertile). TURKISH REVOLT ENDED. Times and Sydney Sun Service. London, Juno 3. A number of Turkish troops revolted, killing their German officers. Other troops quelled the revolt and captured forty-three revolutionary Turkish officers, who were sent to Constantinople and executed. REINFORCEMENTS FOR CALLIPOLI. Cairo, June 4.
