GREAT NORTHERN MEETING. Pek Pbess Association. Auckland, June 3. The Auckland Racing Club’* Great Northern meeting opened to-day in perfect weather. The track was heavy and holding. There was a very large attendance of the public. The totalisator investments were £10,812 10s, as against £116,492 10s for the opening day of last year. A meeting of sportmen in England passed a resolution, urging the Government to restore racing in centres where it would not prejudice military requirements.
