DEFENDERS FIGHT TO LAST SHELL.
(Received 9.15 a.m.) I’etrograd, June 3
Official.—The enemy bombarded Przcinvsl with sixteen inch era, making their principal attack on the north front forts Nos. 10 and 11, which the Austrians had almost demolished be-
fore the surrender in March. We repulsed the attacks, but the enemy captured several of our guns, which were fired till the enemy was almost [at the muzzle and the last shell spent. Between Lysrnenitza and Stryj the enemy concentrated much heavy artillery, and a large force made a stubborn attack. They achieved some success. We took part of the enemy’s position on the right bank of the Bystritza. REPORTED GERMAN SUCCESS. MUCH RUSSIAN BOOTY. (Received 12.45 p.m.) Berlin, June 3. On the 7th the Russian counterattacks against our offensive columns east of Jaroslav failed. Von Linsingen’s army advanced at Ztydaczow, north-east of Stryj. The booty in the battle consisted of sixty officers, 12.175 men, fourteen cannon, and 35 machine guns.
