The Portuguese steamer Cyano was torpedoed off Ushaut. The ecu was saved. Official.—All the officers of the Majestic were saved.
MISCELLANEOUS. United Phebs Association. London, Juno 1. The Danish steamer Sobung was torpedoed forty miles north-east of tlie Tvno. The crew was saved. A shell passed through the Dixiana's engine-room and narrowly missed upsetting the boat. Splinters badly injured the second mate. Copenhagen, May .'sl.
Britain has refused to allow the steamer Sydland. owned by Albert Jansen, to leave Liverpool under the Danish (lag, on the ground that his company, owning fifteen large steamers, was really a German concern.
