I | The Merchant Service Guild appeallinjv to the seafaring community ask-! ing those who are pursuing their ordinary avocations to contrilnite one clay's p-y per month to the national fund for return wounded New Zealand soldiers, and for the dependents of those who fall in the war. The scheme is already operating in Wellington, and the Union Company is 'being asked if it will forward free of ( cost all contributions on its ships in other ports. It is proposed that this fund be administered by the Mayors ( of Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin, assisted by three other' gentlemen, to he appointed. i
